What is your competitive edge or your unique selling proposition that sets you apart from other businesses in your niche? Tamra talks about the importance of narrowing in on your USP to make sure you stand out in a world full of sameness.

Good morning, everyone. I am so excited to be here. My name is Tamra Andress. I’m your host for Core Talk with Tamra, obviously. And I’m here to not only teach, testify, but transform your business from the inside out. And another one of the T’s that I love is travel. I am joining you today from Isla Mujeres, which is off of the coast of Cancun, which you can see over my shoulder here. And the reason I’m coming specifically from here as my first show is I want to showcase that travel adventure that everywhere you go, there’s business tips to learn.

And so if you have a boutique or a restaurant or a hotel that you want me to come visit, drop it below. I would love to come out and just showcase what it is that you have going on. The place that I’m staying specifically now is amazing. It’s one of the most pristine beaches in the world and it is called Cuxos Hotel. And so the trip I’m going to give you today around business and growth and this community of rooted entrepreneurs that I want to serve, is about our competitive edge or specifically your unique sales proposition.

And so your USP is what I’m going to refer to it here. And I’m going to show you exactly why this hotel has a unique USP. Their entire side door opens up to this incredible view. So I only am really staying in a three room quarters right now. It’s absolutely amazing. And so while their beach bathrooms I’ll showcase those, too, are down here are missing toilet seats and they’ve had a truck filled with trash, I’m pretty sure, parked in the main entrance since we’ve gotten here.

Not really sure what’s going on with that, but their competitive edge is that they know they’ve got a view that is absolutely killer. We’ve been all over the island and there’s been nothing that beats this view. It’s absolutely beautiful. And around noon, all of the yachts come over from Cancun and stay right there on that beach. So it is beautiful. But I want to know, what is your competitive advantage? What is your unique sales proposition? So let me give you something that maybe is a bit more close to home.

If you don’t own a hotel and maybe you’re just a small business owner or a God dreamer alongside many of the women in CORE Creatives, I’m going to showcase Rachel Kemp, and she doesn’t even know that I’m doing this right now, so I hope that it blesses her. But she has lived The Blissful Life, and I thought it was very appropriate for where I am to share, what it is that she does and her USP. And so she has a safer beauty, health and wellness company.

And through that, she has partnered with multiple companies to give her customers something that nobody else does, which is a full encompass package. So oftentimes, you see people who might work with one company and that’s all that they sell or showcase. But she really has done research on all the encompassing pieces that will serve her client well. I think it’s a competitive edge, specifically because if I’m coming to her, for one thing, she knows that my heart is around nutrition, health, wellness, safe, especially for my kids in my home, and she can serve me in all of those categories.

So she has done a beautiful job. And I just wanted to specifically shout her out today. And now I want to know about you! Comment below. Tell me what your USP is. And of course, I can’t forget the part about testify. Yes, these are testimonials of other businesses who have a competitive edge, who are utilizing it to their advantage even when other people in the market are selling or doing the exact same thing. There are hundreds of other hotels I could have stayed at.

There are many other people that I could resource for my CBD, but I don’t. I go to them and I go to Cuxos Hotel. You’ve got to come check it out. But I want to testify specifically around what does God say about us having a competitive edge. And so here we go. I do not have my Bible in front of me right now because you guys are utilizing the resources of my travel You Version Bible. But 1 Peter 4:10 says that we each have a unique gift from the great reserve of spiritual gifts from our father, and he wants us to utilize them to serve each other.

And therefore, that’s a high call y’all. That means that our specific gifts are intended to serve each other and service is the ultimate route of entrepreneurship. How are you serving your people uniquely? How are you showing up for them? What is your competitive edge? I would love to hear from you. I’m going to give you one more quick view of this incredible showcase. You have to visit Isla Mujeres and if you are coming to Mexico at all, my retreat is coming up in February.

I’d love to see you. That’s another competitive edge of mine is in the midst of business, I think it’s so important for us as entrepreneurs to find time to rest, rejuvenate, and simply find the gifts that are all around us. So as you go about your weekend this weekend, I hope that this blesses you. I hope you look around for what’s the competitive edge of your favorite coffee house, your breakfast restaurant, your brunch place, your church, perhaps. Even the community of people that you’re involved with, you all have your own USP utilize the unique one that God has gifted you.
