Show Notes: Because You Can

Holy cow I say it's butter because he has this voice that should just be dubbed over every dum…dum…dum... “This is God narrating your life.” That's just my example of Marcus Black. You guys, he's on the podcast today and you are going to want to listen to every single word from both sides of the story and from both sides of the ambition and why I say both sides, it's not a one against the other.

It's both, and it's the knowing that God is in our voices, your voice, my voice, his voice. So incredible to see when God connects people and you are going to sense the energy, the vibrancy. I encourage you, if you want to see it live, you're going to see us laughing and jumping up and down in the background, as our mikes are muted, because this conversation about ambition, this conversation about greatness, this conversation about the fact that it's not just Marcus and I, you, you right now are called.

You're called into greatness and greatness looks different for every single person in you, access greatness in different ways, but ultimately it all is great because the I am within you is just that the great I am. I am so grateful for this man. I am so grateful for his ministry. I am so grateful for his voice and I cannot wait for you to get, to get to know him more.

And if you want to get to know us both come in person to Dallas, October 14th, through the 17th for the Embrace Your Ambition conference. It is going to be epic and we will both be there. And guess why? Because I'm going to say, wait, but he's going to say because you can, so come see you there.

This is your God wink. The moment that heaven says for such a time as this it's time to own your joy, prioritize your health, discover your wealth and exude your wholeness. It's time to become truly fit. However, this isn't a fitness podcast though. I'm a retired personal trainer and nutritionist, this isn't business jargon or tips and tricks to landing your successful passion project though.

That's still only why I'm a business coach. This isn't a quick fix health detox ploy though. I'm all for therapy and I love whole foods. I do have a Yolo side sweet tooth though. This isn't confusing religious banter though. I'm an ordained minister, still figuring out the many things and facets and faces of Jesus.

It's really none of that. So I'm wondering if you're wondering what is this? Well, this is an opportunity to join me alongside other big dreams. Innovative movers and lifestyle shakers. As we explore and share our messy comeback stories and discoveries with each of you fellow passionate seekers, the fit and faith movement was birthed through my own trial and error discovery of mind, body, and soul alignment, and to be totally transparent, my own entrepreneurial crash and burn experiences.

I've learned firsthand that being fit. Isn't about our physique at all. It's not about our qualifying abilities or titles. It's not about our potential. It's truly about our God gifted passions, meeting our purpose. You are one step away from achieving your idea, your dream, your calling, your purpose, whatever you want to call it.

And I want to be there for the moment that you've saved. Yes, and freedom, clarity, and confidence that you are living fully fit and who and whose you were made to be welcome to the fit and faith podcast with me Tamra and Jess, there is no better time than now. Yes. Yes. Yes. I'm so pumped to have you here today.

Mark is, this is going to be an epic conversation when I've been really looking forward to, especially since connecting with you firsthand in Denver a couple of weeks ago, it's been like brotherly sisterly bond since the beginning. I am so grateful to have you here. No, thank you. I'm so incredibly elated.

You look so sharp. Like live and it was cool actually to see your logo. I love the word affirmation that you have in that I don't know that I had ever seen that firsthand. And so obviously inspiration is what you do naturally. Um, but that affirmation piece, you really do affirm people. Well, you affirmed them individually.

You affirm us corporately. And so I know today everyone will be blessed. Who's listening. So thank you. That's a huge pillar of who I am and it's the comfortable void of what I didn't have a lot. So, and I'm a words of affirmation, love language person. So it means a lot to me. And I just want to give it to the world for you.

Yeah. So you guys, if you have an already just tuned into the sound of his voice, you guys, I call it butter and he is a Southern gentleman. So it goes perfectly. I'm thinking corn bread and butter as Marcus Martin. Thank you. So I'm so pumped because it's not just like. This bond that we have, but it's the same heartbeat that we have for the world to impact and not necessarily a bias through us at all, but through our heavenly father and the impact he's had on our life.

And so tell us a bit about where that generated in your life and the momentum that you keep, because you do so beautifully, how do you have that access and that power? So, so gifted man, it comes from several things, but the first is a foundation that was laid into me by my mom. And the one thing that was never optional.

And you know, you guys know you live in the world. The world is trying to pull you a lot of different ways. It's trying to pull you here, there and everywhere. To cause you to lose your mind. Cause there's an adversary who does not want to see you win. But my mom was like, this is foundation. This is pivotal.

You are not, I always tell people I had a drug problem growing up. Cause my mom dragged me to church every single day. Like I'm not exaggerating. She was the secretary. And that was just something that was pivotal. And so because of that foundation, we all have these times, as I got older, I had my times I was feeling myself and I was like, I'm tired of that.

I'm tired of doing that. Tired of the rituals and go, and by the grace of God, I'm still here. He didn't take me, but it was a dance with death, which was a wake up call that really sent me my intention to walk this path to purpose, to really inspire and set a blaze, a heart of people to let them know that something greater.

I know that as a best-selling author and I got hand on, on your book, I actually downloaded the audible version right in front of him because of his voice. And then I realized afterwards, I should have gotten a copy too, cause I need that signature. Right. Cause this van is going global. And to know that it's like with that understanding of that, that moment, that shaking moment.

And I feel like so often, and this was kind of the premise of my podcast when I started it at three years ago was I I've synced and I've seen, and I've experienced this shaking and it's not just in my life, but it's been in the shaking of other people's lives. That it that's where that surrender has.

And so I want you to talk, you have the asleep at the wheel is the book and people saw it in the intro. If they weren't watching you guys have to get your hands on this book. Um, I've already started, I hadn't finished it yet. I'm into like chapter three. So I've got to do this, but it's this storyline of what happened that you opened up the book with, um, that I think was your shaking moment.

So talk us through that. Yeah. So what's crazy is I'm a little bit hard here. So I had several shaken moments. So the one you're speaking about now, I actually was driving home. Come on. Now. I like to drive overnight. I don't know about you guys. And I like to drive over night because there's no traffic. I don't like traffic.

I move with intention. I like to get where I'm going. Maybe it's impatience. But this particular time I was doing great. I had been driving all night, feeling real good feeling. Great. And then it happened, like I got punched in my head by Mike Tyson haymaker and it was sleep. I've never felt anything like that.

Like, it was so heavy on me and I had been going five hours. I was good. I'm thinking I'm good. The daylight's up now. We're home free. Nope. Nope, Nope. And the next thing I know, I opened my eyes and my entire car was off the hook. Wait, like I was driving down the side of the highway, like it happened the ground.

And like looking at a guardrail and watching my life flash before my eyes. And I could think of 1,000,001 ways, right then I could've should've would've been dead, but I corrected, I got back on the highway. I didn't hit the guard rail. I didn't get run over by an 18 Wheeler. I didn't flip all the things.

And then needless to say, I didn't get sleepy again on that journey, but that's a message for somebody because the point is nobody plans. Nobody plans to fall asleep at the wheel. You don't plan to go broke the day you start a career, you don't plan to get divorced the day you say I do, it's a slow fade and it creeps into your heart.

And next thing you know, you're like the AMC you walk in there and I don't want that for anyone. That was me for a long time. Yeah, I think that's so powerful. And I think I, you kind of process that also through this understanding that asleep at the wheel is like this complacency place that a lot of people exist in it's on that autopilot, right.

Of everything is just okay. Everything is just good enough, not enough to activate you for greatness, not enough to have you in a place that's stalemate, where you have to do something. And so I think that's so critical to look at the lens. Like you just example, not just in our own personal walks, but the walk in relationships, the walk at work, the walk in parenthood, like there's so many places where complacency can set in and then that asleep, asleep at the wheel or that shaking moment occurs.

And I love that. You said that there's multiple times. I don't think God ever gets done shaking us if he does, or probably in heaven at that point or dead and not in the place we want to be. And so is there other, like shaking moments beyond that, that puts you into the place now? I want to hear it because I haven't gotten to the other juicy chapters yet.

You, you is crazy. Cause you're right there. You about to hit the one to change the game. And I'm going to tell you, sell it to you right now, but I'll save some of the details so you can enjoy it in the book. Here's the thing about Shea, I loved the way you presented that shaking moments. That's so powerful because we don't even realize that's what we need.

Sometimes we get so stuck. We get so stuck in a rut, in a routine, and this is just how it is and how it has to be that you can't see anything beyond it. And you don't know what you don't know. And it takes an outside set of eyeballs, a close friend, a companion, or literally God himself to say, Hey, I need to get your attention.

It's time for a wake-up call. And my, my other wake up call. Came in the form of another accident, somebody said, what is it with you and cars? Like somebody sent me that message like, Hey, I wasn't driving this time. And we didn't fall asleep at the wheel. We had a blowout that literally led to us flying off the highway, 75 miles per hour, Dukes of Hazzard style, literally going off the highway or nearing a bridge down into a big ditch meeting in the car spinning.

We literally knocking down trees are smacking me in my face glasses, smacking me in my face. My head is swinging back and forth before boom. He hit a massive tree in the car, scrunched like an accordion, and we were trapped. And that was the one that got me because I struggled most of my life with this.

And we haven't even gotten to, I struggle most of my life with this crippling anxiety. And I know that touches a lot of people. That is a monster that hunts more people than almost any other disease in the world. And I struggled with that starting from age nine, all the way up. Yeah. Mine's centered around the fear of death and dying something, which I could not control.

So I cater my life to it. I was a safest kid. I don't want to go outside. I don't want to ride the bike. I don't know. Want to get in the water. You've learned this about me a little bit. No, I'm good. Uh, but from all of that, I found myself in that seat, off the highway, the car smoking us, balled up me afraid to open my eyes because I'm now thinking my worst nightmare has come true.

I am about to die without having ever lived. And spoiler alert, you see my face, I didn't die, but that was the wake up call. That was the moment. God was like, all right, you trying to do this your way. I keep trying to get your attention, but you're not listening to me. So I got to be a little bit more forceful.

Maybe this time you'll listen. And I did that hit my heart because I walked out of that. And everybody who saw the records, it's like, how does a human not only survive this, walk away from it for humans walked away from it. All of which are in ministry now. Wow. I was just going to ask that. Wow. Again, it's, it's this recognizing that the shaking is, is critical.

It doesn't surpass anyone. Nobody gets the easy way out of this, and yet still people are okay with either staying in that complacency piece or they're expecting their life to have some sort of perfection. And I was definitely perfection driven for so long. Um, even experiencing anxiety. I didn't truly know what that was until my shaking moment.

Um, and I think again, multiple, right? And so I love for you to just like lean in. Cause I, I do know the premise of that first anxiety attack that you had. How have you, since coped with that? Man. I love the question and there's been a lot of ways I've learned to cope. I've learned some practical ways and I've learned some supernatural spiritual ways, but if you are a person who's struggling with crippling anxiety, and I tell you, it took over my life.

I mean, like I'm not talking about, I was nervous. My stomach was turning. No, I mean, I got sucked into a vacuum. I'm hyperventilating. I'm literally taking my place into a grave. Literally watching dirt, cover me in the life, going away from me and feeling like I'm not going to be here. I'm going to cease to exist.

And first of all, we got to know, I mentioned earlier, there's an adversary that does not want you to have the abundant life that God created for you. So the first thing is to be alert and aware because those attacks always come when I'm on the precipice of something that God put me in place to do. So there was that, but there some practical techniques, one is called grounding.

If you don't know what that is, it's how you literally tap yourself back into your 5 cents. So like when I would feel it's crazy because they used to hit me like regularly, like daily, this was a struggle, even in places like church where you should be feeling great and happy and your soul at peace. No, I was having anxiety attacks because they're talking about heaven and I'm like, that should be something to rejoice over, but that was killing me.

And so I know that I'm speaking to somebody's heart right now because your heart, your struggle. I've had so many people since I've opened up about this, tell me they struggle with the same thing, but grounding users are five senses. So that's like, what do I see? So I literally ask myself the question, what do I see?

And I'm saying like, okay, I see colors. I see green, I see yellow. I see brown couches. I see the leather. I see. And as I'm doing that, it's taking my head out of that space. And then what do I smell? And then you touch something. I'm rubbing the wall. I'm feeling the texture of the wall. You rub your feet on the carpet of the ground.

That literally is like a force override to pull you out of this mind space and back into your present reality, which leads me to the next major pivotal piece, which is living for the moment right now. This moment is all you have and you gotta make it count. And so the greatest way to live in this moment is to practice gratitude, because it's almost impossible to live in that state of fear and anxiety when you're practicing gratitude and saying what I'm thankful for, what I'm grateful for my life, my wife, my health, the things that around me, my kids, and looking at what I do have versus what I don't, because that is, that puts me in a different mind and heart space.

So those things literally start pulling, let me back. And then those. So what happens is that I attack still come, but they don't last. They used to last like 3, 5, 7 minutes, like crazy. And now they, and here's the thing I want you to know. The techs still come. They just don't know. I'm like 10 seconds. And I practiced my techniques and started practicing to, would I say a prayer?

And then now I've noticed this is something, a revelation I just had recently, they were coming like first, every day. Then like after years, I've kind of learned to get a little grip on it. They were coming like every couple of months. I now can't, I haven't had one this year. And that the revelation that came from that is when your zeal and zest for life and purpose is bigger than your fear.

That is the beginning of number one, the abundant life that God promised you. But that is a recipe for killing anxiety because I don't, it's like my brain doesn't even have time to go there because I'm so excited about the purpose and the passion of what I'm walking and impacted, inspired and touching.

Okay. So you can see this right now because there's somebody else in my office, but she is over here, like shaken with goosebumps. Like it is so powerful. It is so, so critical for people to understand simplicity in a massive attack is truly how God and Jesus orchestrated every single thing that he did.

And if we are to live our life in that, knowing that we have access to the same power that he had even greater things we will do, we can kill anxiety, right? If you can heal the leper and he can make the lame male walk, we can heal anxiety. And yet people stay trapped in this place of fear. I watched one of the episodes of chosen last night.

So it's like visually right in the forefront of my mind, the lame man who was trying to crawl his way every single time that the pool of Bethesda would sprout up, right. That spring, that wellspring, that had like pagan background and all this information that was not of God. And when Jesus walked up to him and asked them that question, do you want to be healed?

And he's like, I'm trying, I've been trying for years for decades to try and get into that pool. And he's like, that's not what I asked you. Do you want to be healed, pick up your mat and go. And so it's that action of, but the very first thing that happens is you are confronting that enemy in that moment because mentally the anxiety of knowing he couldn't is what kept him trapped.

And so if we stay in the fact that anxiety is what's keeping me back, I can't do that thing I'm called to cause I'm going to have an anxiety attack. Then you won't. But if you press pass based on these amazingly simple tactics, believe that you can believe that he can through you, you get to stand up and walk in purpose with zest, with zeal, he was dancing by the end of that show.

And he had never stood foot on his feet since he was a kid. And we want to see that for you. That's what Marcus and I literally speak. And we show up to life for this reason. And it goes right into, of course I, this is my, now my office cup. You guys can't see this, but I got to the conference and it's Marcus.

Black's like main phrase. Ology has got so many vitalize. We want to talk about that too, but because you can not because you, won't not because the anxiety is keeping you back, but because you can he's over here, he can't wait to speak. I'm going to be quiet. Cause this is, don't say that to me. Oh my goodness.

When I hear it, when I hear he was the. I started working with a mentor and I reached out to him, his name's Trent Shelton. You might know who he is. And one of the first things he was telling me is like, you got to solidify the thing, people know you for. So we're working on this training like years ago. I was like, I don't know.

I don't know what my phrase is. I didn't know. And I remember the day it happened, I was filming video content, selfie style. I was at the lake, that's my jam. That's what I do. And I was out there and I said it, and I was talking about how powerful you are. I was talking about the importance of believing in yourself and that you were created for something greater than what you currently experience.

And you hear it in my book. You know, you hear it welling up because that's how I feel it. Then I said, so stop doubting yourself. Instead, start walking in your greatness be because you can. And when I said in my hair stood up and in that moment, I felt that I said, that's it like, I, it wasn't even planned.

It just happened. And it stuck. And that's because it channels what was inside of me, which has always been told what I couldn't. You can't do that. You're not good enough. You're not smart enough. You're going to go and be a speaker and inspire the world. You failed public speaking in college. What do you mean?

And I'm like, I don't care what you say anymore because you didn't give me my purpose and you cannot take it from me. You didn't put life in my breath, in breath, in my body. He did. So as long as he has kept me here and he has woke me up, I'm going to tell myself I can't and I'm telling the world they can as well.

That's what I mean. That's what it comes from. It real. I feel it just a little bit good. And I love that it came with the revelation. Like you can get up and you can walk. And then the parallel of the lame man, it's like so incredibly powerful. There's nothing holding you back except for yourself. And the adversary that you're talking about does exist.

And I think a lot of times I've stood in a place where I've been like, not today, Satan, but then I have to self-check myself because is it Satan? Or have I created this monster in my own mind. And it's really just the Tamra of the past, trying to hold me back because the enemy sure is at play a hundred thousand percent and anxiety attacks.

Definitely. But when I wake up and I don't have that gratitude and I don't have those personal affirmations and I'm not walking in the power and the purpose and the life that God has gifted me, I'm doing that. That's my hand to raise. And so I've got to get in check. I've got to get in line in order for me to stand up and carry my own.

Quick commercial break. I know I hate these things too, but it's so critical that you grow your business for God's sake. And I mean, that pun intended with all the love in my heart to get you from a place of ideation to activation, stop dreaming, start doing stand up, start saying yes to the call that God has on your life.

We are going to be joining in Lexington, Kentucky with none other than the beautiful rise and grind community with Glen Lundy, who will be co-hosting this incredible conference. This is the second annual, and he has taken me under his wing to be able to share the stage to motivate and inspire. And I cannot wait to see you there November 5th through the seventh.

If you want to come in for the VIP experience with who doesn't want to come along for VIP, that's all access passes to the speakers and the artists, and you'll be able to dine with us in the private rooms with your own special bathrooms. So of course, come one day, two day, three day passes away. Well, and we can not wait as good.

And I say to hug your neck, see you there. I love this. If you can't tell by the look on my face, I'm just like, ah, because personal responsibility is everything. And I'd say we made his job easy. Now. Like we can blame everything on him. And he said, well, his legs. I was like, I ain't doing nothing. You're doing this, you're doing it.

And he just sitting here and we just blaming everything like that. Ain't him. That's you, you got to take control and take personal accountability and responsibility for your actions because the creator of heaven and earth said, you can't. He said, I've gifted you, everything you need by my divine power that pertains to life and godliness.

So you got no excuses. So what are you doing? And we just sit and we wallow in it and he's just sitting there, like I gave you everything and we take it for granted. I cannot let people do that on my watch. Yeah. Yeah, it's so interesting. And so powerful. Have you had the opportunity to read, uh, Napoleon hill and Sharon lectors outwitting?

The devil book I've had excerpts, but I haven't read the whole thing. I listened to it as you can hear, just from your own audible. And then this book, I have to listen in this season of life. I love holding a book. There's nothing better, but it's the only way for a timeframe with my kiddos that I can like get it in.

And so I was on an airplane and I was listening and they're the voice of the devil is in the book. And it literally transitions from the guy who was inquiring to the devil and then back and forth. And when it happens every single time, it gave me like that spine chill. Cause it's a creepy voice. And at the very same time, he says that he says one, he's not creative.

If you've never heard this before, he's doing the exact same thing over and over again. Every generation for as long as generations have existed, that he doesn't know anything else. We're falling prey to it. Because we are not taking responsibility, but every time we pass the buck to him, every time we point his way, it's actually like creating more pride in the devil.

You're giving the devil pride by saying, he's the one going for it. When in fact the one who deserves the pride is your creator. And so if you want to pass the buck of gratitude and show up in that place of authority over your own life, stand up pride fully for yourself. Because when you do that, you're giving the creator the credit.

That's ultimately what we're meant to do every single day. And when people are talking about purpose, you, you fall prey to the fact that purpose is in alignment with your, with your profession. That's not true. It's not true at all. Right? And so it blows my mind when people are like, oh, well, I'm not walking in purpose because I'm just doing this measly thing.

No, you get to. Purposefully to every single part of your life, every single day, if the job is part of it that you don't like, that's keeping you trapped, then get out of it. And we can talk about that too. But at the end of the day, it's about purpose from the moment your eyes wake up to the moment they go to sleep.

And even when you're sleeping, there are processes and ways that you can fall asleep in peace rather than to fall asleep and know that there is an anxiety attack coming in your nightmares because I've experienced that.

Uh, I actually just spoke, uh, at an event with Les brown and they were, they assigned me a topic and they assigned me to topic purpose. So I literally was just talking about this and what crazy. One of the things Trent always says is listen to your purpose. It's not in your profession is what you just said.

Your profession is your placement. That's not your purpose. Your purpose is who you are. It was birthed into you. It was breathed into you and it cannot be taken away forever. And I spent a lot of years chasing purpose chasing. I'm looking, I'm searching this elusive search and I cannot find it because you never go find it because it's already in you.

You're looking in places you don't have to with awakening from within because God breathed it into you. And so then when you understand that you just got to walk it out and everywhere you go, it's purpose because you get to live. You get to give, you get to serve. You get to uplift and Edify and you get to make his name famous.

That is purpose. Oh my gosh, you guys better be taking notes or hit the replay right now. Hashtag replay. If you're watching this after we go live, but. First off. I love that. Trent says that and I, and I love that. I've never heard it before and then said it and repeated it. And this is the thing that you need to know in your purpose.

You're going to have a revelation on your own that maybe 10,000 other people had before you, that does not mean that you shouldn't show up and speak because the people connected to you, weren't connected to the 10,000 other people. And so if you think that you're lacking purpose, because it's been done, because it's been said, because the book has been written, you know how many books I've read that I'm like, they're literally writing mine.

So right now, but guess what? I still wrote my own. I still, I have to put the pen to paper because there's a lens. There's one tiny perspective. There is a story. There is a shaking moment that that person didn't experience. And so it breeds life to the next person in the kingdom. That's connected right to you.

And that all you have to do is show up. Because you can, all you have to do is the heartbeat on your hat is let your blood pump through your veins and say, yes, say yes. Talk to me about, vitalize talk to me about where that emerged from. I love the heartbeat behind it. No pun intended. And I, I just want to, I know it's part of your, your gift.

Thank you so much. So yeah, that was a word. I never heard that word a day in my life. I don't know what that word means. You know, I remember one day I was in the middle of my wilderness season was that's a whole nother story. So like 10 years of me trying the wilderness y'all life is real. This is real stuff.

It is. So I had 10 years in that season where from the accident, that one that I told you was my wake-up call. And that's where I'm trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do. So in the middle of that season of my wilderness season, I remember the word hit me and I was like, vitalized. I'm like, I don't even know what that word is.

I had no plans of speaking, no running from it. I had no plans of being in front of people, inspiring building a platform. I Googled the word and it said to Mbale with vitality to give life to. And I was like, oh, that sounds very familiar. Because when I had that accident that I told you guys about, I spent a lot of time asking God, why, why me?

Why did this happen to me? Why did I go through all this trauma in my life and the anxiety and the abuse? Hey, I said, all the things, why did it happen to me? And I never got an answer to that question. Cause I realized I was asking the wrong question. The question was never why it was, what, what is it for, why am I giving you this?

Because the last time I checked, I read all things. Not some things, not good things, all things work together. So if all the things are working together, that this is going to have some part to play in the grand scheme of what I'm supposed to do. So I remember making a promise to God. Okay. It's not what, why anymore?

It's what, what is this for? I said, I am committed. I promise you that as long as you keep breath in my lungs and my heart beating and me on the planet, I'm going to spend all of my time giving and serving and pouring myself out to people. People ask me today, how do you do that? How do you show up every day with this energy?

How do you give, give, give? Because I have no other choice. It's a commitment that I made to him. And so, because of that, when the word he hit me, I was like, I see what you're doing. Okay. It made me nervous. I'm not gonna lie. It made me scared because I'm like, I'm supposed to give life. But how, and so I remember working at a mega church.

That was great, incredible season. But in that that's when it really hit me, God was really like nudging me, like, all right. It's time you've been trained. You've been sharpened. You seasoned. It's time to go. And so I stepped out and I created a platform right now. It's just a platform. Eventually it'll be a nonprofit, but the vitalize project, which was my personal project to inject love and life all over the world to every human being.

I can do a podcast through content, through speaking, through traveling, everything, all the things, that's what I'm doing. And so it literally the pillars of it. I got it everywhere. It's live in love. It's like on my wrist, live in love. It's on my head live and love the hardest, love the vias live. And so that's everywhere.

That's what I stand upon. That's what I'm here for. That's my mission. It was a really good mission. And I think I need training by Trent Shelton because I'm thinking through, I'm like, what do I say all the time? What is, what is my word? What I enjoy. By far it, no, no doubt. Standing on his promises, one rainbow at a time, uh, and really claiming him.

But I think what I think about in this live in love, peace is one knowing that there's symmetry in them, that there is not one and not the other, that they're connected that in order to live in a life of fullness, you must learn to love, but you must accept love and accepting love is accepting your creator and knowing how much he loves you, that he created you for this.

And the question that you struggled with was so for so long, and I think is still actually a plague societal problem. What am I supposed to do? What am I supposed to do? And so people meet you in the very first question out of their mouth. What do you do so already? There's either shame. Or their significance and people tie significance to money.

And that is the opposite of God's identity in who you are. Money is a resource. Great. If you have it. So what if you don't, you still have love and you still have life and you still get to show up every single day. So I stopped asking people that question, because when it was asked to me in my wilderness season, I felt completely shamed.

I felt completely lacking worthiness. I felt completely unlovable and that's no place for a child of God to exist. And so I start asking people, what are you passionate about? What are you passionate about? Because oftentimes what that person does to not from nine to five is not what they're passionate about.

So it's not, what do you do? What are you passionate about? And when I asked this question, even to people who DM me, there's a pause and there's a, wow, I've never thought about it. Like. Or I get the feedback saying I'm so passionate about my children, traveling all of these incredible hobbies and things that are gifts and talents.

And then I say, how has that infused in what you do? And it's not, the travel is just a hope. The experience is just a wish. The bucket list is just a thing inside of their note section on their phone, or even yet not even written down. And so it's tracked inside of their mind, it's out of their control because all they're focusing on is doing rather than being we're called to be not do that's it that's it.

If you didn't do another thing right now, from this moment on. You already have the significance. You already have the stature. You're already a pillar. You're already great. Your name is great. Maybe not in the world eyes or by their standards, but by his, because there's nothing he made. That's not perfect.

And you're thinking perfection from worldly standards, God's perfection is different. The same way he made the mountains. Technically those are just jagged rocks. They're imperfections. But to us, it's like, oh my God, this is majestic, right? Because we see his imprint on it. Same thing with the ocean vessel, not so beautiful creatures in the ocean, but they're all perfect.

When you see them, you Marvel at these massive creatures and every, you Marvel at all of God's creation except yourself. Why is it that you can Marvel at every other thing and even every other person, but not yourself because God does, because he put his fingerprint on you. He put his individual specific fingerprint on you to say, There's not another one.

Like you are the only one. And you're the only one gifted with this story. With this context, with this situation that can show up and do what I need you to do. But this, what you said gets into a conversation that I like to have with people that most aren't ready to have. And whenever I sit down and I talk to people and I'm coaching, I asked them, I started with a question which gets into what you said about their purpose.

But I, my question is specific. I asked you this, what do you want? Tell me what you want. What do you want in this life? And most people start, they start talking, but they're not answering my question. You're telling me all this stuff that the world says you're supposed to have. Okay, scratch that. What do you want?

Then they start telling me what everybody wants for them. When my parents think this, my husband thinks I'm good at this. My wife thinks I'm good at that, but you're still not answering my question because every single one of us has the thing in our heart that God breathed into us specifically. That nobody else can see, and nobody is going to be able to see because he gave you the vision and it's up to you.

Can you imagine Noah, when he got the vision from God and he started telling people what he was supposed to do with that vision that came from God and they were like, yeah, nah, bro, you crazy. And I'm telling you, because we do that when you speak what you're really supposed to do. When I told people I'm going to speak on every continent and light a fire in people's souls, people were like, what do you feel?

People love to remind me of that.

But it's about when you have that thing, tell me what you want. And then people say, well, then that's selfish because it's about what God wants. And I'm like, I love, this is what I like to deal with my view. I feel like it's interesting on this because I, it, it absolutely is about what God wants for you, but I think what you want most.

And what God wants most for you are one in the same when your heart is submitted to him. That's the caveat. When your heart is submitted to God, there is no dream that you can have that he didn't place there. So it's not about you, even if it's big, what do you think it came from? You cannot out dream. God, you cannot, it's not possible.

So that's what I tell people. Tell me what you want, because if you've submitted your heart to him and you're walking out his purpose for your life, whatever you want is going to honor and glorify him, oh, you guys feel that energy. This is like, oh, it literally eliminates every poor of Marcus. Like literally from, even if he's silent.

You're one of those people that like, you're, if you're in your presence, I am called to greatness. And I love that about you. You just have this stature and I know that it's completely connected to God and I know that people need it so desperately. It's from that fatherly figure, whether it's from that friendship, that iron sharpens iron, that mentor, that coach even little brother status, right?

Because my little brother, he calls out greatness in me all the time. Cause he's my little big bro. Cause he is actually like much taller and bigger than I am as are you. And so it's this recognition that you are created for this, that you can not out dream God at the exact conversation that Marcus and I had when he got off stage, when he called us to write down, what do you want?

And I literally came up to him and I'm like, this is what I want. He's like you, you cannot out dream. God, you need to write that above your headboard. You need to say that before you go to sleep every single night to dream the big dreams that God has planned for you. When I pray and God responds, envision and picture, that's the way our conversations go.

I get to see the plan unfold before me. I get to visualize. Which is utilization is a really important tactic to do, even when you're awake and not just in your prayer life, not just when you're dreaming, but when he shows me something, I'm like, well, how the heck am I going to get there? That's not going to happen tomorrow.

And at the exact same time, I know there's going to be shaking moments in the process. I know the adversary's going to get in my way. I'll also know I'm going to get my own way because I can not plan to perfection what God has already perfectly planned. And that part of the process is just the submission that surrender that you're talking about, that God has before you, in that vision that God has before you in that dream.

And yet at the very same time, it's going to be more magnificent. It's going to be that much bigger because it's not even possible for us to take that $50,000 lens over our life. He sees with such bigger eyes impact that we'll never even experience, even when you're on that other car. Even when you're speaking to that a nation, because what I believe and what I know it to be true from my own experience is that it's going to affect the generations.

And so when I'm called to a stage, I'm not called even maybe to that person in the room, I'm called to the child that they've yet to bear. So how do I get motivated every single day I show up for what is seen and what is unseen. And that is faith.

This is so good. I'm just over here. I'm like, ah, good. That was so good. And I hope you guys are listening, but not listening for the sake of information. Information is free. You can Google it. That's cool. I'm talking about information. You got to let the words that God is trying to speak to your heart, Pierce your heart.

And so many times we put these layers up because we've been hurt because we'd been missing. We get angry at God. He didn't do anything to you. Sometimes his representatives do, and that's sad, but at the end of the day, there are people in there and perfect. One of Jesus's closest friends was the one that betrayed him.

And he spent a lot of time praying for all the people who would walk with him. And still one of them betrayed them. We don't even ask God, we don't even consult. Sometimes we don't even think twice about the people we allow into our heart and circle. We just come on in the more the merrier. And then next thing you know, you heard it.

You wonder why he cried. You gotta be intentional with the people who are in your heart and in your life. But what I want to speak to you right now is the activator. The activator to God is your action because God will meet you at your level of obedience. He will meet you at your willingness to take the step.

Do you trace all through the Bible when you read about Abraham and God said, all right, if you trust me, I need you to go. Where I'm going, because I got a lot right here. He said, I didn't know. I didn't speak to that. I just said go because I need to know, do I have your heart? That's what he's asking. And everything we're saying to you today is does God have your heart?

Because when we made a choice to surrender to it, then there's all these things. There's all these big things. And now Tamra's touching people all over the world. Now she's hosting a conference. That's going to impact generations. That is incredible. You think when that idea first hit her, she was like, I know how to do this.

I'd have all the answers. It's like, no, I don't know how we'll make that happen, but he knows. And that's all that matters. And you went, you guys are listening to us talk and have this incredible conversation and we're feeling it because we've lived it. But what does it mean for you? What are you going to do with it?

Because this is not just a good story to make you feel good for a moment. This is literally a iteration of the living word. Continue through his vessels. Now showing you what happens if you submit you trusting you.

Oh, activation activation activation you guys. This is why I change everything from Christian business coach, which doesn't mean anything to me, Christian. Sure. That identity great. But I don't really care about the business of your life. I care about the business of your heart, of your head, of your home.

That's the business that matters. That's the business that you have to step into every single day with purpose. And guess what everything else from there evolves, it becomes because it's already been planned. And I want you to take note of that betrayal that you mentioned earlier when he was betrayed.

Guess what it was about. If you're not watching, I'm given the money sign. He betrayed him because of money because he thought the riches of the world. We're going to surpass the riches of heaven here on earth. And I seen it before I lived this in my own testimony that I put money before everything else.

And it will destroy you and you will allow it because you're looking to and fro rather than aligned right to the heaven. And you said the word Marcus and it's so perfect for you. And it made me think of all the action figure movies I've ever watched in the Marvel series. You said the word Marvel that we are God's Marvel, that he marvels in you every single day.

I can see myself standing in that, that sweet little pose that, um, gosh, Kik Carrington, right? Is it Kensington, Carrington, Carrington. She stood in and I can see myself saying, I am the model. He marvels over you just like he marvels over Marcus. And so if we look at ourselves as marvelous, I've never used that affirmation for myself.

I don't know about you. I am marvelous. I've never used it. I'm going to, I want people to stand in their purpose because they shine because they can, because they have access to that's ultimately what this entire message is about, but just like he's activating you. I am activating you. God is activating.

You get out of the boat, get out of the comfort zone, get out of the car that is smashed around you, that you feel like you're in the situation of death. The one thing that you thought being buried alive was going to happen to you. That coffin, you're not going to coffin. You are not meant to be there, get up, but you have to act.

You have to believe that you can.

you're so right. And you can, because of who's your power source. And the thing is you, you know, everything else has a power source. Your car has a power source, your phone, your computer, all this technology, all this stuff has a power source. And what happens when they disconnect from the power source they die.

So the question you have to ask yourself is, are you connected to your power source? Because he already told you my divine power is going to give you everything, seek you, fairs, what I'm trying to do in you, what I'm trying to build. And I'll add all those other things. That's a byproduct of you walking in purpose.

That's going to happen, but are you connected to the power source? Because if you haven't had a conversation with God in a while, if you haven't spent time, I know I have a wife and if I don't spend time with her, we don't have very much of a relationship. Have you spent time. With God intentional time, not just, oh, read my two scriptures and my devotion.

I checked off my list. I'm good to go. What if I did that with the people that I'm close to? My mom, my dad, my wife and my family, my kids. I'm like, okay. I hooked my kids today. I'm gone. Like you don't have a relationship. And I want you to know that's the most important thing to God is a relationship. Not all the structures, the rituals he wants to your heart.

He wants a relationship because if you can show that you trust him, if you can show that you are connected, you will. Number one, you won't die. That's the thing. When you disconnected, you die. Not only physically, but you're already walking there. You're back in that state feeling drained every day, feeling lethargic, feeling hopeless, feeling like giving up, feeling like there's no point.

Why ask yourself? When is the last time you plugged into the power? And so this was an inappropriate thing. I just felt that in my spirit to say somebody right now needs to connect, you need to turn off the phone and turn off the TV, turn off the computer, get off social media and you need to connect in the power source because you might be able to go a day.

You might be able to go a couple of days. My headphones went a couple of weeks, but eventually you will die and you will feel drained and you will have no energy. And you won't be able to walk in your purpose because you're disconnected. What's so powerful about that is, oh, there's a thousand things. But that disconnection in all of those devices, right?

We're on a device right now using multiple energy sources in order to keep it alive. Um, my, we have a golf cart and my sister and mom went driving and it's an, it's an electric golf cart. So it's been plugged in. It's works great. The battery doesn't read, but we know it's charged. That's the thing in and of itself, but we're, they're on their way.

We're in another city. We can't even help them. And it died. And in that process, one they're too far away to push it. And two they're like hysterically laughing. Thank goodness they had that perspective versus something else. But guess what they had to do, they had to hitchhike. And what I want to say to you right now is if you're like, I don't know how I'm going to get there.

I don't have an energy source, cause I've never met one I'm too far away. I've made all of these mistakes, Marcus, myself, and so many others will give you a ride, use our power, use our energy source connect with us. So we can be the conduit to the energy source that you are birth to connect to. It's like the umbilical cord.

There's all this research now that the umbilical cord should stay connected for longer and not just cut the supply. Cause a lot of stuff happens right after birth. I don't know all the details. I just know that this is. And so we need to plug you back in and we'll get you there because we're connected.

And it doesn't mean we're perfect in that connection power. Cause my energy bars go down. It means that it's a consistent kind of activity that has to happen for that golf court to run and for you to run. But if you do it and you don't have connection, you're not reaching out. You're not DM-ing and you're not doing all the things you're going to be stranded.

You're going to be shaken and you're going to be called to a ground, a grounding place. Just like you said, Marcus at the beginning is your ground, the coffin, or is your ground the life giving opportunity to feel the grass between your toes to feel the sunshine on your face and to experience the power and the Marvel of your career.

How to share that example because it was so parallel. I have no words. This is just remarkable. I can't wait to listen back because it's already touched me in so many amazing ways. You guys, Marcus and I are sharing a podcast. He's got a podcast. He's a secondary podcast coming to lie. Right? Come on. When did that's launching soon July, it's going to be a week later.

It was going to be July glacier, ambition podcast coming soon, be on the lookout, so excited. And then we'll get to share a stage again at embrace your ambition in Dallas, October 14th, through the 17th, you have to get your tickets right now. I know they're going to go so fast. The mentor that he was talking about, shin Shelton will be there.

Ashley and hopefully Carrington, her daughter will be there. She was 12 and took the stage so proudly and Ashley's vision for this is literally changing lives. And again, we are not connected. Like she's connected. But all of us together, get to show up an entire character and entire representation. One by one by one, because our stories matter because him within us matters, you should be there.

Cause we want to see the him within you facts. I mean, this is, I mean, that's like no other words. Here's the thing. We're all on the same team. And we're building, if you can't tell, and this is one of the, I love, this is perfect place for me to bring this because when I started working with Trent, some people had hesitation about me paying him to be my coach, because they were like, you're basically telling him, you want to be him.

You are putting yourself in his space to become his competition. So what's going to stop him from just taking your money and not really helping you, keeping you at an arm's reach so that you don't really grow to become what God has. Like, well, number one, I trust God more than him. So it's not about him.

This is just what I feel I'm supposed to do. But I also was transparent and I had a conversation with him. Cause he one session, he gave me everything. He gave me like 10 years at one, I was like, oh my God, it was like overwhelmed. And I said, bro, why would you do that? Why would you give me everything?

Knowing that I'm telling you, I want to be you. I want to, we don't have the same audience, all of this stuff. And he said, how many people are there in the world? Seven and a half billion. He said, if I wanted to, he said, how many followers do I have? It was like 20 million. He said, okay, that's a long way from seven and a half billion.

Which means there's a lot of people who not getting reached. There's a lot of people who aren't getting hope. There's a lot of people are having the love and the life he said. So if I wanted to, I couldn't. So we, I need you. I need somebody else to walk with me so that we can do this together. And so the reason I bring that up is because of what you're building in Virginia, your conference, we need it, we need to we're on the same team so we can support everything you're doing and flooded and sell it out because those people need the heart and the love and the life that God put in your heart.

And it will turn right around and do the same thing across the country, in another city. And help people have the same thing, the same mission, the same goal for them to step up, believe the dream he placed in their heart and go live it so that I had to share that because that's why, and that's how we can support each other and love.

And it's abundance. The same God who created everything. He's saying I got to lie. People hurting. I got a lot of children who need my love and I need my generals to go do it. And that's what we're doing. And I'm honored to walk this journey. Likewise brother. You're so right. And every time I think of the army and the, and the generals and everyone lining up, because that's exactly what this fleet is doing.

And it's incredible. Even just from breakfast of champions to social media show, to embrace your ambition to the kingdom, clubhouse, all this stuff, we're lining up beside each other, but it's people like you who have taken the horse like Mel Gibson, and you've got the blue Stripe.

That is what we want. I want people to be set free. I want them to be set free from so much, but ultimately to be able to live in a place of joy so that their joy just literally floods off of them everywhere they go, because people need to taste it. People need to see it. And so we have to live life abundantly.

We have to be revitalized because we can. And mark is you literally blow my mind every single time you share. And today was so congruent and it spoke right to my soul. Thank you for, for being you and for living in that mentality of abundance, because it's not what a lot of people practice, and it's not what we were taught and it's not what I've experienced in the past.

And people need to not only witness it from a stage, from a microphone, from a brother, from a sister from a partnership perspective, but they need to experience it. And I think that's what we're giving them the opportunity to do. Yes. And they, man, yes, that's exactly what we're doing because we have the power to redefine what the world tells you is success and what they don't get to make up the rules.

The rules are set. God is saying I'm the giver of everything of life. And if you follow me. I'll make you fishers of men.

It's, you know, I'm an urban missionary. So we were just talking to the kids yesterday and we were talking to them about what that would feel like for them to say, come and follow me. And he said they were fishing me. He put it in their context. I'll make you fishers of men. If you don't understand what that is like, I'm going to tell you right now, what God is saying is there's a lot of people who are lost right now because the world is taking them down.

Different paths that lead to destruction from addiction, from abuse, neglect, all these different things that evil, that exists. And we see that and we're flooded with it and we're bombarded with it and we feel overwhelmed by it. But what if a group of people said, okay, but that's not the truth, then that's not the whole story because there's a whole other group of people who care about love.

There's a whole other group of people who are representatives and agents of the God that created our violence. And we're going to come and flood you with something to do not pain, not trauma, not abuse, but love care, compassion, genuine service. And when we choose to do that, which is a choice we've already made and we're inviting you to make the choice with us.

Then we have the power to go and change the world. And when I say we I'm talking about you, you have the power to change the world. So every single day of your life, you stepped into it. You own it. You walk in it with passion and you go do it B because you can, I have no choice, but to say it, Mike job, y'all you have to get in touch with Vargas black, get all of the things he does.

And if not be a part of him, get connected. Cause he will connect you to the one who is the power source. I love you brother. Thank you for being here. Thank you for your deposit today and we couldn't be more grateful to have you in our community. I love you, my sister. And thank you all for having me. It's been a tremendous honor.
